Timeless Elegance Card

Last month my downline, Shirley, ran the club so that I could move.  Here is one of her gorgeous cards!

Today I worked on finishing up cards from past club projects so that I could get my things all put away.  Right now I have a bit of organization but it isn't pleasing to the eye.  I need to get new organizers, I think.  LOL!
Happy stamping!

Our new family member

Here is a picture of one happy girl!  She has been after her dad for years and begged for a dog; when we moved he sweetened the deal by offering a dog.  My daughter does not like change so it was a big adjustment for her to leave the only home she knew.  She found little Possum on Petfinder.com at Second Chance in Columbia.  Yesterday we met him and his foster mommy at their pet store Lizzie and Rocco's (next to the HyVee on Grindstone) and my daughter fell in love!  It went very fast because I inquired about Possum on Monday morning and Tuesday night we started our one week trial.  Look at that picture and tell me how long the trail will last!  LOL!  He is already bonding with her and is such a little gentleman.  He never barks and loves to be cuddled.  Someone worked on her home school with a happy doggie in her lap.  (-:

I will post a card tomorrow but had to post this little cutie's pic today.

Happy stamping!  I am off to work on organizing my craft nook in the bonus room!

Second Mother's Day card from Julie

Here is another great Mother's Day card from Julie.  My craft things are still packed up but gradually we are getting boxes unpacked.  I have been able to cook dinner all week because my first priority was to get my kitchen in shape.  Of course, bathrooms and home school supplies ranked high on the list of things to unpack.  LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!

Floral card post from Julie

Stampin' Up papers, inks, embossing folder, embossing powder, and stamp set (from Sale-a-bration).
There is a good argument for making multiples of cards when you are stamping; it is just such an efficient use of time and creative energy.  Too bad I find it incredibly boring to make the same thing over and over.
So, I thought about how I could be efficient with my time and not offend my sense of wanting to create original cards to stave off said boredom. Here are some thoughts.  Warning....most are VERY obvious suggestions.  I am sure that you have or could have thought of all of them yourself and perhaps a dozen more.  I am just in a chatty mood today so I thought that I would write them down.
     Change ink color.
     Change embossing powder color.
     Change color of card stock.
     Change out the sentiment.
Use an embossing folder to add detail to the base card.
Actually use your scoring board to emboss those nifty lines on your base. (I personally have had the diagonal board insert for YEARS, and this is the first time that I have used it....go, me!)
Use a stitched, pierced, or shaped die to add detail to your panel.
Use a corner punch to add detail to the panel.
Add dimensionals or foam tape to raise the panel.
Change the orientation of the card. (Portrait to landscape or vice versa)
None of these things require a complete redesign of your project, so it is still efficient, right?
