August 3rd Troops Event

CARDS FOR OUR TROOPS EVENT

Saturday, August 3rd, 2013

9:00 am-1:00 pm

Hosted by Bible Baptist Church

4730 Country Club Drive, Jefferson City, MO

Bible Baptist Church is on Country Club.  Take Highway 50 West toward Sedalia and turn on the Apache Flats exit just past the two hotels.  You will actually pass our church before you get to the exit.  The event will be held in the lower building (closer to the road) in the fellowship hall.  You can come and go as your schedule allows.

Come create much needed handcrafted Christmas and other occasion cards for the troops serving in the war zones to send home to their loved ones.  All cards and funds raised will be donated to From Our Hearts, a 501c3 not for profit organization. 

We ask that all children be accompanied by an adult.

 All supplies will be available; we need your help to stamp and

assemble the cards.

Working through many chaplains in the war zones, From Our Hearts sends thousands of handcrafted cards to our military personnel every month.  Each box is filled with every type of card found in a store.  These are cards they use to write home to their loved ones.

Never made a card?  No problem!  You will be supported by local Independent Stampin’ Up! Club Project Candy Corn Punch Art

Hello!  I am not a Halloween fan and will probably use this card as a fall birthday card instead.  I needed a card for a swap and this one was super fast and fun.  Because I am still a bit under the weather (kind of shaky yesterday when I made this card) I was hoping that everyone in club would not mind an early fall card in the project lineup.

My printer broke this week so I am hunting for a new one.  In the meantime, I will not be able to print off any Stampin' Up! flyers or technique cards for the month until I decide on a new printer.  I am shopping strictly online (once again the mono keeps me from the fun of shopping...lol) so it may take all week for me to make up my mind!

Stamp Camp Thoughts of You Card

This is my second post today so I probably won't post tomorrow unless something exciting comes up.  LOL!  I was very pleased with the outcome of this project even though I could not use the fun new technique that I wanted to incorporate into this card.  I will just have to use it at club this month instead!  The styles just did not mesh well together and felt too "forced".  I can hardly wait to share this project with everyone at Stamp Camp!  Today is the last day to sign up so call if you are interested.

Shower Invitation Card

This is a fun shower invitation and will be the inspiration for a Christmas card for the troops event (first Saturday in August).  I probably will skip the pearls for the troops card.  LOL!

Happy Fourth of July and a big thank you to all of the men and women who are serving our country to keep us free.  Thank you also to the families who have loved ones in the military.  I remember how difficult it was to say goodbye to my dad when he walked out the door to serve on the submarine.  Your sacrifice is appreciated!

Stamp Camp Lever Card Mosaic Madness

Hello!  I barely caught the sun still out for this picture.  LOL!  I took a quick trip to town to go to the doc and then to grab a few things at Walmart; the trip about wore me out!  I rested up a bit and then worked on finalizing this card.  The lever card is super fun!  I love the new Quatrefancy Specialty paper in the catalog (page 150).

Stamp Camp Happy Birthday Project

Hello again!  I went through a rough patch this past week with the mono but today was a good day so I was creative enough to create this card.  How fun!  The kids spent the afternoon with friends so I could make a big mess and not worry.

This features the color block technique. There are still a few openings in stamp camp so call or email by Friday if you want to join the fun!  Space is limited!
