Be My Valentine Card swap

Thank you to Kathy Kennedy for this cute swap card!  Simple and clean but classy!

Today was an exciting day in our house!  My daughter had been begging (literally) her father for guinea pigs and then someone found a free family of guinea pigs on Craig's List.  She talked her father into letting her just adopt the 3 month old boys (because I reminded her that she was responsible for the care and food).  We opted for a clear but long storage box with lid because it was bigger and cheaper than a cage.  She can save up for a cage later.  We hit Walmart for food, bedding, water dispenser, and food dish to save on start up cost; I also reassured her that an empty tissue box was cheaper than a store bought hideaway.  She is super excited because the critters were free and needed a home.  The owner had run out of pet food today and was anxious to send them to a new home.   (Not thinking about the other two animals and what was going to happen to them...probably Humane Society, right???)  LOL!

Club Project Wax Resist Flip Down Stack Card

Phew!  What a name for this card!  I just finished ironing all of the glossy white paper for this project.  I agonized over this one and reworked it a few times Saturday night until I had a nicer version.  I still might work on it today because it might need another layer to add dimension.  LOL! What do you think?  Calypso Coral behind the Baja banner?

Here is the link for the tutorial I used.  I did substitute bakers strong for the magnetic buttons and changed the dimensions of the card.

Update:  I LOVE the coral behind the blue banner!  What do you think?  It really made the stamped images pop!  I plan to sponge the edges of the card with grey instead of using the direct to paper technique; this will provide a softer, more "aged" look.  This card did not photograph well...sorry!

 

Club Project Bring on the Cake Card

Hello to all of you and happy Saturday!  The top card is my club card and the bottom card was my inspiration.  I opted to go with a color palette I found in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  I seem to find so many great color palettes there and most of the colors are spot on for Stampin' Up's colors.  How handy!  I added a third banner while making them more narrow.  I also layered both butterfly punches and used the new Honeycomb folder.  How fun!!!  This card is doing double duty as my monthly swap card and one of my club projects.

Stay tuned because my other club project is a bit more complex and very fun!

Before Christmas my son asked to use my SU supplies and punches.  Under the Christmas tree I found this card for me.  He spent hours making this card for all of his favorite people...I was so proud of him!  I have to confess...it is my favorite card this season!!!

Thanks to Martie Shea my downline for this great snowflake card.  It is clean and simple!  LOVE IT!  I think that I might change this design to a winter card and use it in my monthly swap.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.  My lower back is doing better every day.  Yesterday I had another adjustment and then used my coupon (yes!) for a free Swedish massage.  I feel like a new woman, or almost like one!  LOL!  I am still a bit sore but doing better than I was this past weekend.

Evergreen Christmas card

Snow Swirled Wedding Card

I just realized that I forgot to post yesterday!  Woops!  Today is the wedding day of my friend's daughter, Kaylee so I have been knee deep in helping with the wedding.  Last night I stayed up late and then finished these thank you cards for Kaylee.  I made 50 of them as part of our gift to the new couple.  Their last name starts with a "P" so I thought monogrammed cards would be lovely.  There is a thank you sentiment inside the card. 

Kaylee and her mom came over and we stamped all of her wedding invitations, RSVP cards, envelopes, etc.  The mother of the groom borrowed the stamp set and ink pad to stamp on the wedding napkins.  I also printed and stamped the wedding programs so this will be a coordinating stamped up wedding!  LOL!
