Cards for the troops event

Thank you so much to all of the people who made this event possible!  Congrats!  We made about 3000 cards for the soldiers and Martie said that it was a record number of cards made at one event!  I am very excited about the number of cards because I was hoping for over 1000 cards made.

A special thank you to Veterans United Foundation for donating the money to ship the cards to the soldiers! If you want to read some neat stories about what this group does click on the link.  My husband is proud to work for Veterans United Home Loans; it is a mortgage company ONLY for veterans.  If you know of a vet who needs credit coaching or help with a mortgage be sure to let them know.

Thank you also to Walmart on the east end of Jefferson City, MO and to Walmart on Broadway in Columbia, MO for donating gift cards to purchase white cardstock and double sided tape!

Thank you to all of the ladies who worked behind the scenes assembling card kits and to all of the folks who turned out for our event!  Tomorrow (Wednesday) I will be posting our finished cards so that you can admire the handiwork.

If you want to learn more about From Our Hearts or donate please check out their website link.

I even had my hubby and son assembling cards!

Martie Shea accepting the flag from a grateful son's mother.  From Our Hearts has more than one flag now from grateful soldiers.  The mother told Martie that our cards help morale.  The soldiers are so excited to get cards to mail home to family and friends.
Thank you and happy stamping!
