Perpetual Birthday Calendar Video

Busy day here!  I messed around in the yard after trying to hit the neighborhood garage sales in my area.  The garage sale was a complete bust but it was fun.  My daughter is now less than enthused about garage sales now though.  LOL!  She has definite ideas about life.  I was hoping to get a bit of stamping done but seem to have worn myself out with the day's activities.  Maybe tomorrow?

Happy stamping!

Scooter Card and Coupon-less Shopping Tip

This is a super cute card!  I just love stamping cards at stamp meetings because then we get to play with sets that we would not normally own...unless we fall in love with it and it becomes a MUST have item.  LOL!

Speaking of must haves, I went into H@@@ L*bby today and yes, it is in code in case the SU police notice that my blog has mention of other stores.  (-:  I just happened to be alone, oh the bliss, and had a few minutes to shop.  What a wonderful afternoon!  I ran out of SU gold ribbon and was desperate.  I am still working on those thank you notes and really want to finish them up but forgot to add gold ribbon to my last order.  I also found a super cute wire basket for all of the thank you notes.  I strongly dislike purchasing gift bags so I usually watch out for bargain baskets on sale or clearance.  I promptly came home and put all of my thank you notes into the basket and will wrap it in tulle when finished.  Maybe I will have leftover ribbon to tie a bow on top?

My happy moment for the day was when I found So Delicious yogurt, made from coconut milk instead of dairy, at the east end Gerbes.  That Gerbes is now my favorite store in the entire world and it is the BEST DAY EVER!  (-:  Can you tell that I have a pre-teen in the house?  I paired the yogurt with coupons and the Ibotta rebate and got a super good bargain.

If you are interested in Ibotta is an awesome app for the smart phone and it offers rebates.  When you have $10 in your account you can redeem the money for gift cards from Amazon, PayPal, Wal-mart, etc.  I have used it for over a year now and it has saved me close to $100 already.  Some weeks I won't find any rebates and other weeks I will find multiple rebates.  This week some of the non-brand specific rebates are bread, milk, toilet paper, ranch dressing, tortillas, coffee, and more.  There are also certain brands with rebates.  Enjoy!

Happy Spring

This is a fun spring card made with cut outs available in the Occasions catalog.  They really make a fast, simple spring card!  We used a flat Kraft bag for the card base just to shake things up a bit.
Our brick work was done last week!  Hooray!  This week should see new support columns and a new step down to part of a new sidewalk connecting to the old sidewalk.  The poorly poured (lol) front parking slab is gone now as well.  Hooray!  It was an eye sore and the cracks allowed for weed growth.  I am hopeful that I can move my roses back over the weekend.  I am going to have fun picking out new flowers for the pots for the front porch.

So You Project Kit video

Hello and happy Sunday.   I am a day late (but hopefully not a dollar short) in posting this entry but we had the best weekend!  Saturday was filled with family at the family Easter luncheon on the farm.  My nephews are so adorable and it was fun to see all of the cousins playing with the baby goats and throwing pebbles, rocks and boulders into the "branch" ("crick" where I come from in Montana).  I was so tired by Saturday night but what fun!

Sunday is my favorite day of the week and I just love my church and church family.  Today was especially wonderful in that Bob and JoBeth Hooker were at our church this weekend.  Mrs. Hooker spoke about the types of love in a split session Sunday School just for ladies and then we heard her husband preach Sunday morning and Sunday night about the home.  They raised six daughters and all of them are serving God across the world!  I have been eagerly anticipating this Sunday for months and it was like Christmas to wake up this morning to remember again!  I am tired tonight but wanted to be as consistent as possible with my blog.  I think that it might be therapeutic to write on the blog too.  (Wink)

If you want to check out the Hook Publications website click here.

If you would like to hear Bob Hooker speak on the family and "bless your gizzard" click here.  Yes, it is late and my sense of humor is running amok.

Have a wonderful end of the weekend and check back on Monday for a card posting!

Elegant Thank You cards

These thank you cards are for my beautiful soon-to-be sister-in-law, Christine.  Her wedding shower is approaching and I had leftover cardstock from making her wedding invitations.  I finally ran out of steam at 75 thank you notes but have supplies cut out to make an additional 25 cards.  Overkill you might say?  I am going to offer to convert any leftovers into personalized stationary; they would look super cute with a big "C" on the front instead of the "Thank you".

Don't forget that today is the last day of free shipping!  There is no minimum to purchase and you can order online!  If you do order online please use the hostess code below so that my friend will get credit for the orders, unless you plan to purchase enough for a party (to earn free goodies).

Baby Shower card and thank you

Hello to all of my stamping friends!!  My friend and downline, Brie, is due to have a baby soon and I thought that i would share the baby shower announcements and her cute patchwork style thank you note.  Very cute!
Below you can see what our house looks like before the brick dude came this morning to work on the brick face.  I will try to get an after picture posted tomorrow but it looks good.  I am so ready to get my fingers in the dirt and fix up our yard.  Patience is a virtue and I still have spring cleaning yet to do.  LOL!
Happy stamping!  Stef

You Are Amazing Card

I just love the word "amazing", don't you?  It sounds fun!  Another fun word to say is "squishy" because it sounds just like the actual characteristics.  Call me nuts but "squishy" is just fun to say.  I guarantee you will smile after trying to say it ten times.  If you really want to drive your children bananas (another fun word) try saying it ten times but with different facial expressions and intonations.  LOL!  Now you know the key to irritating teens and preteens.  Not a week doesn't go by that my daughter shakes her head and tells me that I am "so weird".  (-:  Mission accomplished!

I am still working on thank you notes for the wedding but spring cleaning keeps distracting me from the truly important things in life.  (Wink)  I was sick for so long that my house is ready for a deep clean.  The labs still show Epstein Barr (mono) active so I am "eating the elephant one bite at a time".  One of my goals for today is to take a few of the cards upstairs to photograph so that I can post them tomorrow.

Happy stamping!

Butterfly Basics Card

This card is truly one of my favorites in the cards that we created at the demo meeting last month.  How can you not like butterflies?  The colors are fabulous as well.  I love the purples and greens together.

Today was a fun day for me.  I felt really good and hope that bodes well for my next set of labs (Epstein Barr/mono) due to arrive to the doc any day.  While the kiddos did their seat work I swept and tidied the garage and then swept and tidied the basement/bathroom.  Laundry day means that I have clean sheets too!  There are few things as wonderful as going to bed tired and sliding into clean sheets.  Love it!

Tonight I continue to work on my thank you notes for the upcoming wedding.  I am using up the leftover cardstock we had from making wedding invitations.  Her colors were Island Indigo and Pistachio Pudding with gold accents.  They look stunning and I am having fun!  We used the Everything Eleanor swirl in the background.  I plan to post the notes this week at some point.  I am at 51 so far and hope to make it to 100.  I will have to get creative soon because I just ran out of the brushed gold paper and Pistachio Pudding is running low.

Happy stamping!

Video Saturday - Watercoloring with Blender Pens

I was personally very sad to hear the news that Stampin' Up! was forced to discontinue their line of Blendabilites alcohol markers.  I just fell in love with them and had put off purchasing alcohol markers for years in hopes that SU would come out with a line.  Sigh!  I completely agree with their decision based on the information that they gave to demonstrators.  A fail rate of 20-40% in factory was unacceptable and frankly appalling for a reputable manufacturer (not sure who); tiny microscopic holes during assembling is crazy.

I digress!  Here is a fun technique with the old standby and faithful friend...the blender pen!  There are still many fun, yet easy ways to color those fantastic lemons in my favorite Sale-a-bration stamp set.  (-:  How handy that SU came out with some fabulous watercoloring videos on YouTube!

On a side note, why on earth does my spellchecker never like the words "watercoloring" or "cardstock"???  I have red squiggly lines under those words every time that I type them!  I LOVE watercoloring and cardstock!  Who doesn't?  Obviously the twit that worked on the spellchecker program was NOT into papercrafts (yet another word decorated by a red squiggly line).  There are few mysteries in life that irk me more than typing a blog post and wondering why...

Happy stamping!  I am off to create some fabulous thank you notes for my soon-to-be sister-in-law.

Just For You Card

Yikes!  I can't believe that I forgot to post for three days!!!  I realize that I have thousand of viewers eagerly waiting on the edge of their seats with bated breath (the viewers and not the seats).  Yes, I am in a goofy mood today; hence, the misplaced modifiers and the extensive use of adjectives.  There (not their) are several teachers who follow my blog and today is the day I set out to show the world that I am educated.  LOL!

The front yard is looking better but is still a soupy mess.  Our new concrete porch has sufficiently dried and should be cured enough for errant postal workers and UPS drivers to traverse.  (Another big word!)  I was so worried when the USPS guy walked around the dirt piles last week to lay my package in the gravel pit (after the guys waterproofed the foundation) next to the door.  I had nightmares of lawsuits and dying men in brown uniforms littering my lawn.  Hopefully next week will be dry enough that the construction guys can come back to put up the permanent support posts of the porch, smooth out what is left of our lawn, and work on a step up to the porch.  We also will have to get someone here to repair the bricks around the door because a few fell off.  My hubby is going to work on the old bricks to remove old mortar because it will be nigh onto impossible to find a match otherwise.

I will try to add a picture of the yard just because it is fun to watch the progression.  I am still in sticker shock over the price.  I would much rather have new wood floors in the upstairs or new carpet in the basement or....

Happy stamping!
