Retro Week Garden Silhouettes Card #2

Hopefully no one blew away last night because we had a humdinger of a storm!  I think I heard the kids up and the dog whining so our household is running tired today.  LOL!

I really did try to pick up another stamp set but this one is such a great set that I will probably be "stuck" on it all week long.  LOL!  I hated when the Dictionary background stamp was discontinued so it was fun to pair with the Garden Silhouettes stamps.  I even slipped the Vintage wallpaper embossing folder (butterflies) into the mix.

Happy stamping!
Stef

Stamps:
Garden Silhouettes
Dictionary
Sincere Salutations

Colors:  Night of Navy and Whisper White

Supplies:
Big Shot
Textured embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper
Punches, butterfly (both sizes)
Ribbon, denim (finally used the retired denim ribbon because it looks great with Navy ink)

Butterfly Basics Card

Today I pulled out my stamps and got creative after CASING a card in the Occasions catalog.  I added a few layers and an embossing folder to give depth.  I hope that it gets your creative juices flowing!

Stamps:  Butterfly Basics

Colors:  Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Naturals White, Old Olive

Supplies:
Big Shot
Butterfly Thinlits (I got the bundle so that I saved money when I bought the stamps and dies)
White/Silver bakers string
Dimensionals
Punch-bitty butterfly and 3/4" circle
Embossing folder-Spring flowers

****You definitely will need your paper piercing tool when you work with the butterfly thinlits because there will be lots of poking.  I did not find this die as annoying as the lacy doily die...phew!  That one was a chore but this one is much less time consuming.

Happy stamping!

An Open Heart card

Hello and happy Saturday to all of you.  Do you remember the card that my friend Suzanne sent to me during convention?  I promised my take on the card and above is what I created.  I am not sure that the hearts really go but they did tie in with the sentiment.  I will probably sponge the flowers and butterfly next time instead of the direct to paper technique.  I did have fun and that is important.  I do see the need to get that cool Hexagon Hive (pg 228 #132965) thinlit to use for stenciling; my guess is that they actually inked up the thinlit and stamped with it.  Cool, right?  Instead of stamping the butterfly I ran it through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan folder and inked it up.

I think that my next step is to do some research to see how folks are using the new stencils because they are hot right now and very afford-ably priced.  I love things that give lots of bang for the buck!

Happy stamping!

Club Project Bring on the Cake Card

Hello to all of you and happy Saturday!  The top card is my club card and the bottom card was my inspiration.  I opted to go with a color palette I found in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.  I seem to find so many great color palettes there and most of the colors are spot on for Stampin' Up's colors.  How handy!  I added a third banner while making them more narrow.  I also layered both butterfly punches and used the new Honeycomb folder.  How fun!!!  This card is doing double duty as my monthly swap card and one of my club projects.

Stay tuned because my other club project is a bit more complex and very fun!

Colors:  Daffodil  Delight and Pacific Point
Stamps:  Bring on the Cake
Punches:  Large butterfly, small butterfly (new Spring Catalog), and a square punch (for end of banner)
Supplies:  Big Shot, Honeycomb folder (Spring catalog), pearls, dimensionals

Happy stamping!

Club Project Everything Eleanor Page

Hello!  This is a makeover of my previous card; both projects showcase the Versamarker Shadow technique that we will be doing at club.  I am ashamed to admit that I had the Versamarker for over a year and it was still in the package before this project.  Now I have pulled it out many times to add pop to an image.

I just checked the catalog and the Versamarker is not in the new catalog!  I will have to play with other options today...

Here is my original card; it was my monthly submission to the swap in which I participate.  I decided to add the embossing folder to the band because it just needed a pop of texture in the project.  Who can resist playing with one of the new folders?  I just love the longer size because now I don't have to overlap the folder impressions to create a longer strip.  Hooray!  I plan to have a post soon that showcases the difference in sizes now that Stampin Up has changed the size of the folders.
